So my original plan with what I finished with was vastly different in meaning. The idea of making my own little scenery and projecting nature onto it was still the same. I realized I clearly did not have enough material to do the original meaning and opted for a last second change when I was making the little scenery with paper. It reminded me of the way as a child I used to make my own paper props when I played with my toys and didn’t have an item I needed. This is what sparked my idea for the final concept. Mine was about the view of a child's imagination compared to how an adult sees things. Looking at the paper prop, an adult would view it as is but to a child, they see it as much more. They see the grass blowing in the wind and the river flowing. The projection is what helped me bring it to life. The projections are what helped show that child's imagination in real life so while an adult would see paper, the child sees it as a living scenery through their imagination. It’s not perfect either. I made sure the build wasn’t perfect and I added little drawn pictures to give it a charm and to line up the projections to the paper. So the drawn mountains lined up with the actual projected mountains and the river and pond lined up with the drawn one. It’s not perfect and it’s small which gives it the childlike charm to it. It’s just a little something they made to play with. I think it did really well. It wasn’t flashy like the others but it was simple and playful. It invites you to approach it so you can see the details. :)
